Iam able to transfer FROM sampler TO computer but not conversely. Right now iam sitting with my AKAI S3000XL.Īnd iam tryin to transfer Samples from Computer In to the sampler. I've looked at the s1100 and it has exactly thew same setup, so no help thereĭear TANGENT and other Gearslutz mambers. #EMXP AND AWAVE STUDIO SERIES#How do you set up the Akai s series to accept bulk midi sample dumps? #EMXP AND AWAVE STUDIO DOWNLOAD#My question relates to Midi Smaple Dump, I've tried using C6 by Elektron to download bulk smaples to 3000 but it always overwriters the last sample downloaded, C6 seems to work fine, it appears to be the way the S3000 is setup, I cannot seem to get to grips with the sample override number function, no matter what I set it to it will NOT take a bulk sample dump, Yes, Tranlator, Millenium, Awave and MESA apparently all convert wave to akai format. I'm not sure whether my drive, disks, sampler or Translator is to blame, but thought I would pass on my experience so far. So, I've yet to get it to work completely. Second the Akai had disk read error when reading the samples on the disk. First, moving the programs to the proprietary disks took a while (5 mins) for even a small program. ![]() #EMXP AND AWAVE STUDIO ZIP#So you know, I was tried this with zip disks and my Akai s3000xl, and I had 2 issues. You can also take a folder of wavs and map them across the keys in an Akai program. You can convert existing formats to an Akai formatted disk. Never tried this method, since i use Translator.Does Translator allow you to convert a regular WAV file to Akai format? I'm not interesting in sample libraries - I just want to convert samples I made on my Mac.Harry, I did some more research and thought I'd report back for others that want to know. that said, they are robust, good sounding, and very stable machines that will serve you well!Īkai does not what is a wav file. The workflow that many people have gotten used to, in terms of auditioning, dragging, and dropping samples is far different than working with these older samplers. for single hits (drums) or short loops, this is often the fastest. Or you can just run audio cables to the akai, and resample. #EMXP AND AWAVE STUDIO PC#for windows pc computers, you can use a program called millenium, along with a midi and scsi connection. this requires a scsi and midi connection. There is also a program called mesa that you can use on pre-osx macs. this enables you to transfer samples to the disk using a low level protocol, thus not requiring the pc to really recognize the types of files that are being dealt with, or the base formatting of the disk. You can use the program akaidisk on pre-xp windows pcs. Nor will the akai read a mac or pc formatted disk.nor will a pc or mac read an akai formatted disk.expect in a very low level way. So you can't simply import samples from the computer. Unlike the mpc series of samplers, the s series (until the 5000) could not natively read. wav format and the AKAI should read the disk fine. in order to make sure we meet all your needs without blowing the budget.Make sure to save the samples from your Mac in.
